Russ has been a coldFusion developer (fanatic) and long time contributor to the ColdFusion community since 1999 (CF4). Among Russ' community endeavours are cfdeveloper.co.uk , a community for ColdFusion professionals, which is currently the only place on the web where you can find FREE ColdFusion hosting for developers, this site has been going for several years. The UK ColdFusion discussion lists are also managed by Russ through CFDeveloper, although he doesn't get to spend as much time answering questions as he used to.
Russ runs his own consultancy business (Russ Michaels Consulting) providing web development, ColdFusion support, troubleshooting, server configuration (windows only), performance tuning and all things ColdFusion, windows server and hosting related.
Additionally Russ is also technical director of BlueThunder Internet Ltd (aka CFMX Hosting) , their shared hosting company which he launched back in 2002 and which now has a good reputation as one of the top ColdFusion hosting companies in the UK. As their resident CFGURU, you may often find Russ answering your tech support tickets and offering ColdFusion tips/advice in the whee hours of the morning.
Outside of work Russ is a biker (no that does not mean a hells angel), a rather good cook, a bit of a coktail meister, a husband and a father of 3. He rides a Cruiser, listens to rock/metal music, has several tattoos, oh and he also has a thing for the wild west, thus the cowboy hat.
Russ, his wife and his 3 kids and their 5 cats reside in sunny Margate, Kent.
Here is a picture of my pride and joy (after my kids of course) which is sadly up for sale now as having 3 kids means I spend most of my time driving an MPV and the poor bike hardly ever gets ridden. So my wife decided we should put the money to better use, what you didn;t think it was my decision did you :-) But sadly I have to agree it is a waste of money having it sit in the garage most of the time.
